San Miguel Launches Digital Commercial Licensing System

The Municipality of San Miguel has launched a digital commercial licensing scheme that allows for the online initiation of procedures and the acquisition of a license within 24 hours, with the goal of simplifying processes for the local productive sector. As part of this policy, the Municipality stated that it holds periodic meetings with merchants where definitive licenses are issued and feedback on the system's operation is collected, as part of a commitment to being close to the sector. According to the Argentine News Agency, businesses with a covered area of less than 200 m² are exempt from the licensing fee, while those exceeding this dimension can access a 50% discount as an incentive to formalize and expedite the registration of activities. From the Municipality, they emphasized that local commerce is one of the pillars of the district's development, and the intention is to make the licensing process 'as simple as possible,' reducing times, steps, and costs for those who open or regularize a venture.
